The Studio
CorkStop Studios is an artists’ working studio on the Central Coast, California. Overlooking dramatic landscape CSS is situated on 14 acres just off Corbett Canyon in Arroyo Grande, in San Luis Obispo County A mere 5 minute drive from the Pacific ocean and tucked in next to vineyards at the foothill of the Los Padres National Forrest. The studio, 2500 square foot of luminous space currently has three resident artists. Carol Paquet, Anne Stahl and Xenia Madison. It will open to the public a few times a year to showcase the work of these artists and also to feature guests artists, either locally or from further afield. Looking ahead, CorkStop Studios will be a venue for creative workshops and artist retreats. Outside of exhibition times, work may be viewed by appointment only.
Mission Statement
To create a dynamic and stimulating environment for abstract artists to work and exhibit together. To bring contemporary abstract art to the Central Coast. To foster discourse between artists on a regular basis in the community and to bring in outside artists on a consistant basis to exhibit and or work together.
Artist's Peer Critique Group

Application to join CSs
CSS is accepting applications from artists seeking studio space. Please download, print and fill out the applications form. Or e-mail us the filled out form along with jpg of your work.
Painting and Printmaking
CSS is now set up with a large intaglio printing press. We are using solor etching and drypoint technique as well as mono-printing.
CorkStop Studios is open to other print makers on a part time basis, in keeping with the vision of creating a dynamic environment for artists to come together and work. Read the information for interested printmakers.
